Academic sportsmen

It is a term coined by Jong Bhak in 1996. It refers to academic researchers and scholars who work primarily for getting medals, prizes, monetrary gains, fames, and the number of papers published rather than for the sake of academic activity itself.

The motivation of doing science of academic sportsmen is something external than the very process of doing science.
